when the phoenix flies from the mountain watch how her wings waiver in the wind losing flight she falls from the cloud line diving before she rises again fated feathers flame with the sun smokey days burn anew the glow of orange embers dawn will float her ashes back to you

in a city of eight million today i spoke to no one for the most part it was good with a phone that does not ring and the thin wax plates that sing ancient voices serve me food in my shelter made of stone contemplating all that's known my small thoughts fall on the ears of the cat who lay beside feline friends often confide foolish thoughts and foolish fears
i lean out of my window view passer by people go from this place to some front door grandma grips her cane so tightly babies cry out righteously we're all searching for the core of what it all will mean once we all complete the things that will let heavy heads lay on down pillows made of rest languidly on lover's chest at the end of this long day
the weeping willow is falling heeding lady lake's calling for the sky she'll never know the birds they know her yearning so when the sun is burning they touch down to tell there tales conjured clouds show her affection reaching out into the heavens but too soon lady lake is dry and despite her efforts worth cloudy tears fall back to earth placid mirrors reflect clear sky
in a city of eight million today i spoke to no one

where do the ladybugs go when white winter brings the snow tell me so that i might know i think they sprout wings like birds and fly away leaving with sun rays to live another day tell me daddy
where do all of your thoughts slip if they never leave your lips contained they will make your heart flip use your hands and arms to show what you can’t say else these thoughts leak out your eyes and fall away tell me baby do you love me tell me tell me
what if time is not a thing in which we are existing futures past is presenting would you rush off to your next sensation if you’d arrived at your destination tell me baby
where do the ladybugs go when white winter brings the snow tell me so i might follow

waving land locked love stands with a red flag in hand beckoning fervently with a frown despite this daunting haste cork floats in red wine waste lethargy graciously lets hearts drown from this moment in lungs encompass the sin fallen fools fossilize on sea floors pleading emphatically lest love will grant mercy white sea shell teeth lay lost on lover’s shores
momma i’m comin home never more to roam alone I know where you’ve been
orpheum’s bridge abounds with cacophonous sound pistol whipped puncture winds curl your face eyeballs they might expire sanity she may tire but entranced you stare to glimpse her grace kid beware of such leaps it’s the distance that keeps gumdrop cities are built for the fool magnified you may find the one who’s kept your time loses luster a rough with no jewel
momma i’m comin home never more to roam alone I know where you’ve been
